1. Answer in your head first. Don't tap "Flip" straight away — try to recall the answer yourself, even if you get it wrong. That struggle is what actually builds memory; reading the answer without trying first barely helps at all.
2. Rate yourself honestly. 🔴 Hard = didn't know it, 🟡 Good = got there but hesitated, 🟢 Mastered = knew it instantly. Marking everything "Mastered" only fools the tracker, not the exam.
3. Use "Next Unrated" and the Card Status grid together. First pass: tap "⏭ Next Unrated" to get through every card once. After that, go straight to the red (Hard) cards in the grid on the right — that's exactly where your marks are being lost right now.
4. Come back — don't do a deck once and close the tab. Revisit your Hard cards a day or two later. That gap between seeing a card and seeing it again is what actually moves it into long-term memory, not the first pass itself.
5. Short and often beats long and rare. Ten minutes of flashcards daily beats one long re-read the night before. Treat this like a quick self-test, not a textbook.
